This is a quintessential dhokla dish from the lands of Gujarat, but a favorite across India too. It is a Savoury and delicious recipe. Ingredients

For Khaman Dhokla
  • 3 Tbsp Bengal Gram Dal (Chana)
  • 1/2 Tsp Green Chilli Paste
  • 1/2 Tsp Grated Ginger
  • 1/8 Tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1/4 Tsp Fruit Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • As Required Water
For Tadka
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Green Chilli
  • 6 No. Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
  • 1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1/8 Tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp Oil
  • As Required Water

Method

Pre Preparation
  • Step 1

    Soak chana dal, & grind into a paste

Khaman Dhokla
  • Step 1

    In a bowl, add batter, salt, green chili paste, grated ginger, fruit salt, haldi, and mix well

  • Step 2

    Grease the plate with oil and place the batter plate in a steamer

For Tadka
  • Step 1

    Add oil, rai, kadi patta, chopped green chilies, hing, and water

  • Step 2

    Add tempering to dhokla

  • Step 3

    Serve hot
