Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Mutton
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Brinjal
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/8 Cup Diced Potato
  • 1/8 Cup Diced Pumpkin
  • 1/8 Cup Chopped Fenugreek Leaves
  • 1/8 Cup Chopped Tomato
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Mint(Pudina)
  • 2 Tsp Black Gram Dal(Urad)
  • 2 Tsp Green Gram Dal(Moong)
  • 2 Tsp Pigeon Pea Dal(Tur)
  • 1/2 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 Tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 Tsp Green Chilli Paste
  • 1/8 Tsp Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
  • 3/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Clarified Butter(Ghee)
  • As Required Water

Method

Pre Preparation
  • Step 1

    In a pressure cooker add green gram dal, pigeon pea dal, black gram dal, diced brinjal, diced pumpkin, diced potato, chopped fenugreek leaves, chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander leaves. Cook for 2 whistles & blend into paste

  • Step 2

    In cooked paste add salt, red chilly powder, green chilli paste, ginger garlic paste, garam masala. Blend into paste again

For Dhansak
  • Step 1

    In a pressure cooker, heat clarified butter

  • Step 2

    Add chopped onion and saute till golden brown

  • Step 3

    Add chopped tomato, ginger garlic paste and mix well

  • Step 4

    Now add green chilly paste, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix well

  • Step 5

    Now add water as required and mutton. Mix well

  • Step 6

    Then add the blended mixture in gravy, mix well and add water

  • Step 7

    Cover & allow to cook for 4 whistles

  • Step 8

    Serve hot with roti or rice
