The low sodium and gluten free Rice Payasam, made using nuts, jaggery & rice makes a no-fuss and quick dessert option. It is rich in Calcium too.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Rice
  • 1.5 Cup Cow Milk
  • 1.5 Tbsp Jaggery Powder
  • 2 Tsp Chopped Almond
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Cashewnut
  • 1 Tsp Raisin
  • 1/4 Tsp Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 1 Tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • As Required Water

Method

Pre Preparation
  • Step 1

    Soak rice and grind into a coarse mixture and keep aside

Preparation
  • Step 1

    In a kadhai, heat ghee, chopped almond, chopped cashew nuts, raisin, cow milk and stir well on a low flame

  • Step 2

    Allow simmering then add the rice mixture and stir well till the mixture thickens

  • Step 3

    Then add green elaichi powder and mix

  • Step 4

    Remove the mixture from the flame and add jaggery powder and mix well

  • Step 5

    Cool and serve
